Sinopec awarded as the Best Case of ESG Social Responsibility for Central European Enterprises

On June 26th, the 3rd China Europe Corporate ESG Best Case Conference was held in Mainz, Germany. The case submitted by Sinopec, titled “Innovation Leading Green Development, Responsibility Building Ecological Future,” has been awarded the Best Social Responsibility Case.

Sinopec has anchored the “dual carbon” goal, with product carbon footprint management as the core, to establish a carbon management system that covers the entire lifecycle of products and is aligned with China-Europe standards, and to build a new pattern of carbon management with complete top-level design, full cycle coverage, and domestic and international interconnectivity. Adhering to open cooperation, we have taken the lead in achieving mutual recognition of BASF’s carbon footprint accounting methodology, thereby forming a replicable and promotable cross-border industrial chain green collaboration system as a sample. We have systematically laid out a layout around green energy supply, low-carbon technology research and development, and supply chain carbon evaluation, assisting the global chemical industry in low-carbon transformation, fully demonstrating our responsibility to implement the “dual carbon” goals, and providing a practical and feasible industry benchmark for ESG implementation in the global energy and chemical industry.
