Wanwei Group Company holds the 2026 Science and Technology Conference

On May 25th, the group company held the 2026 Science and Technology Conference, officially kicking off the annual science and technology activity week. Wu Fusheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Group Company, attended the meeting and delivered a concluding speech. Sun Xianwu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Joint Stock Company, presided over the meeting. Members of the Group (Joint Stock) Company’s leadership team, external directors, middle-level and above management personnel, and representatives of outstanding scientific and technological workers attended the meeting on site. Mengwei Technology, Guangxi Wanwei, Mingchi Glass, and Jiangsu Wanwei Company participated via video conference.

The conference examined in depth General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourse on scientific and technological innovation.

Sun Xianwu delivered a work report titled “Anchoring the ’15th Five Year Plan’ Blueprint to Tackle Frontier Core Technologies and Writing a New Chapter of High quality Development Driven by Technological Innovation in Anhui Province” to the conference. The report systematically summarized the achievements of technological innovation during the ’14th Five Year Plan’ period, planned the work of technological innovation during the ’15th Five Year Plan’ period, and made every effort to create a source of original technology, providing hardcore technological support for the construction of a new materials industry group with international influence.

Liu Julan, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Group Company, announced the Decision on Commending the 2026 Science and Technology Award. The 2026 Science and Technology Award will be presented at the conference, and the winning representatives will give exchange speeches.

Firstly, technological innovation has enabled Anhui Wei to achieve a historic leap in market competitiveness; Secondly, technological innovation enables enterprises to accumulate and grow momentum for development; Thirdly, technological innovation has significantly increased the comprehensive influence of the Wanwei brand; Fourthly, technological innovation has significantly improved the development and well-being of Anhui maintenance workers; Fifth, technological innovation has revitalized the overall appearance of the factory area.

Wu Fusheng analyzed the situation and tasks of enterprises during the “15th Five Year Plan” period, emphasizing that the innovation horn of the “15th Five Year Plan” has been sounded. We need to anchor new goals, promote comprehensive scientific and technological innovation with greater determination, more practical measures, and stronger joint forces, and create new chapters and achievements for the high-quality development of Anhui.

We must firmly adhere to our main business without wavering. Anchor the high-quality development direction of PVA’s main business, promote the continuous transformation of the industrial structure towards high-end, green, and intelligent, and achieve effective improvement in quality and reasonable growth in quantity. Accelerate the construction of major projects such as Jiangsu Wanwei, and achieve production and efficiency as soon as possible. Proactively adapting to the global trend of industrial transformation, proactively laying out future industries such as biodegradable materials, and connecting the entire chain of “research and development pilot testing industrialization marketization”, effectively transforming technological and project advantages into industrial and competitive advantages.

Secondly, we must increase investment in research and development unwaveringly. Establish a normalized, stable R&D investment growth mechanism, focusing on key areas such as high-end PVA optical films, and break through technological barriers and industry bottlenecks with a nail-in-the-nail spirit. Accelerate the construction of original technology source areas, strive to achieve a leap from “following and running” to “leading” in key core technology fields, and firmly grasp the initiative of development in our own hands. Strengthen the overseas intellectual property layout, and help more Anhui Wei products go global and participate in international high-end competition.

We must unwaveringly uphold collaborative innovation along the industrial chain. Internally, we will coordinate and integrate various resources such as technology, production capacity, and talent, promote technology interoperability, achievement sharing, and problem-solving, break through bottlenecks in the upstream and downstream links of the industrial chain, and achieve efficient linkage and complementary efficiency among internal resources. Proactively linking high-quality innovation resources to the outside world, deepening industry-university research cooperation with upstream and downstream enterprises, universities, and research institutes, and establishing industrial innovation consortia. Effectively addressing the shortcomings of single-point innovation, resource dispersion, and poor conversion, fully unleashing the cumulative and multiplier effects of collaborative innovation.

We must unwaveringly adhere to the strategy of strengthening enterprises through talent. Always anchor the strategy of strengthening enterprises through talent, and comprehensively build a full-chain talent work system of “precise talent introduction, systematic talent cultivation, dedicated talent retention, and scientific talent utilization”. Continuously leverage and make good use of high-quality scientific and technological innovation resources in Anhui, deepen in-depth cooperation with key universities and institutes in the province, such as the University of Science and Technology of China, promote complementary advantages, resource sharing, and joint transformation of achievements.

We must unwaveringly adhere to the continuous deepening of reform. Taking deepening the reform of the scientific and technological innovation system and mechanism as a breakthrough point, we will comprehensively activate the endogenous driving force of innovation. Establish a robust mechanism for scientific and technological innovation, enabling bold exploration and serving as the distinctive foundation of Wanwei’s scientific and technological innovation industry. Intensify incentives for scientific and technological innovation, establish a youth science and technology innovation award, and implement a “small and micro innovation” incentive mechanism to truly benefit practitioners, innovators, and contributors.

We must unwaveringly uphold the Party organization’s leadership in scientific and technological innovation work. Always integrate the Party’s leadership throughout the entire process, fields, and links of scientific and technological innovation, and firmly grasp the correct political direction of enterprise scientific and technological innovation.
