PVA 0488 Application
PVA 0488 is a low viscosity, partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol with excellent water solubility, excellent leveling properties, and uniform film-forming ability. It has low surface tension and good compatibility with various raw materials, and is widely used in the following industries:
Used for medicinal film and outer medicinal substrate
PVA 0488 can form smooth, uniform, and flexible soluble films, making it an ideal choice for manufacturing pharmaceutical water-soluble films and drug formulation extracellular matrices. It maintains a stable dissolution rate and does not react with active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Used for water-soluble film
PVA 0488 has a stable dissolution rate and excellent film flatness, making it a high-quality raw material for environmentally friendly water-soluble functional films. The finished film exhibits high transparency, a low melting point, and moderate mechanical properties, making it suitable for various film-forming processes.
Used for high-density flat printing photosensitive film
Its stability, low viscosity and excellent spreading properties make PVA 0488 a key additive for high-count planar-printing photosensitive films. It helps to form a thin and uniform photosensitive coating, improve the resolution and clarity of the printing plate, and effectively enhance printing accuracy and pattern reproduction effect.
Used for papermaking
Used as a surface sizing agent and coating adhesive in the paper industry. PVA 0488 improves the surface smoothness, surface strength, and ink absorption capacity of paper, reduces fuzzing and dust generation, and significantly enhances the printability and surface treatment quality of finished paper.
Used for paper coating and surface glue application
High-strength coating adhesive and surface sizing agent for synthetic paper, coated paper, and packaging paper. PVA 2888 effectively improves the surface strength, stiffness, smoothness, and ink absorption performance of paper, reduces dust and lint, and enhances the printability and surface treatment quality of paper.
Used for emulsion
As a protective colloid, dispersant and film-forming additive for different lotion systems. PVA 0488 improves the lotion’s stability and inhibits particle agglomeration and stratification. After drying, it forms a continuous, flexible film to improve the toughness and uniformity of the lotion coating.
