PVA 2888 Application
PVA 2888 is a high viscosity, partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol grade. It has extremely strong adhesion, excellent water retention, excellent film-forming toughness, and excellent lotion-protective colloid performance. It is the core functional additive in a high-viscosity, high-adhesion industrial system.
Used for lotion and polymer dispersion
PVA 2888 is an excellent protective colloid and emulsifier for vinyl acetate lotion, acrylic lotion and polymer dispersion. Its high viscosity and strong interfacial adsorption ability effectively stabilize lotion particles, prevent caking and layering, improve lotion viscosity and storage stability and enhance film toughness, water resistance and weather resistance after film formation. It is the preferred grade for producing high-solids and high-stability lotion.
Used for building materials and dry mortar
Widely used in wall putty, tile adhesive, plastering mortar, and repair mortar. PVA 2888 has excellent water retention, thickening, and crack resistance effects. It significantly improves the bonding strength of mortar, construction smoothness, and opening time, reduces shrinkage cracking, and enhances the durability and surface smoothness of building materials.
Used for industry adhesive
Due to its ultra-high adhesive strength, PVA 2888 is widely used in wood, paper, packaging, and composite adhesives. It improves the adhesive’s viscosity, initial adhesion, and final bond strength, optimizes its fluidity and leveling performance, and ensures stable bonding with porous materials such as wood, paper, and fiber products.
Used for textile
PVA 2888 is suitable for sizing high-count yarns and blended yarns. It forms a tough, uniform, and flexible protective film on the surface of the yarn, greatly improving the tensile strength and wear resistance of the yarn, and reducing the breakage rate during the weaving process. It has good permeability, a stable sizing rate, and easy desizing properties, meeting the high standards of textile production.
Used for paper coating and surface glue application
High-strength coating adhesive and surface sizing agent for synthetic paper, coated paper, and packaging paper. PVA 2888 effectively improves the surface strength, stiffness, smoothness, and ink absorption performance of paper, reduces dust and lint, and enhances the printability and surface treatment quality of paper.
Used for high viscosity water-soluble products
Suitable for various high viscosity water-soluble systems, including daily chemical thickeners, water-based coating thickeners, and auxiliary film-forming materials. PVA 2888 has a stable thickening effect, excellent system compatibility, and uniform film-forming performance.
