PVA 100-27 Application
PVA 100-27 is an intermediate viscosity, fully hydrolyzed PVA grade. Featuring superior adhesive strength and balanced viscosity, it serves as a versatile industrial additive widely applied in textile processing, papermaking, emulsion polymerization, functional film production, water-based coatings, and adhesive manufacturing.
Used for textile industry
PVA 100-27 functions as a high-performance warp sizing agent. It forms dense, tough, and abrasion-resistant protective films on yarn surfaces, effectively reducing yarn breakage, lint shedding, and friction loss during high-speed weaving. With moderate permeability and easy desizing properties, it leaves no residual film and will not interfere with subsequent dyeing and finishing processes.
Used for paper industry
As an efficient surface sizing agent for various paper grades, PVA 100-27 forms continuous, compact, and water-resistant barrier films on paper surfaces. It significantly improves paper strength, stiffness, and airtightness, enhances water and abrasion resistance, and promotes uniform ink absorption and sharp printing definition for cultural paper, packaging paper, and coated paper. Benefiting from outstanding film toughness and strong adhesion, it is also an ideal raw material for eco-friendly water-based paper adhesives. It provides stable and durable bonding for paper lamination, carton sealing and paperboard composites, with cured adhesive layers offering high transparency, good flexibility and excellent aging resistance.
Used for emulsifiers and protective colloids
It acts as an efficient emulsifier and high-stability protective colloid for PVAC, acrylic and composite emulsion polymerization systems. It uniformly encapsulates monomer particles to prevent agglomeration, flocculation, stratification, and precipitation during reaction and long-term storage. It stabilizes emulsion viscosity and system uniformity, and remarkably improves the flexibility, water resistance, and weather durability of dried emulsion films.
Used for PVA film
With high mechanical strength, excellent film-forming performance, and stable physical properties, PVA 100-27 is widely used to produce high-quality functional films. The finished films feature high tensile strength, flat surfaces, uniform thickness, and superior toughness, suitable for industrial protective films, functional packaging films, and special water-soluble film products.
Used for thermosetting resin modifier
It is an excellent modifier for thermosetting resins such as phenolic resin and urea-formaldehyde resin. It improves cured resin toughness and flexibility, reduces brittleness and cracking, and optimizes curing speed and moldability. It also enhances resin bonding strength and weather resistance, while lowering free formaldehyde content to achieve greener resin formulations.
Used for industrial dispersants
Possessing excellent surface activity and uniform dispersibility, it is widely used as a high-efficiency industrial dispersant for inorganic pigments, fillers, and fine powders. It reduces particle surface tension, prevents agglomeration and sedimentation, improves suspension stability, and optimizes dispersion effects in coatings, ceramics, and chemical powder systems.
Used for high-performance coatings and adhesives
PVA 100-27 is a core functional additive for water-based industrial coatings and environmentally friendly adhesives. It provides excellent thickening, leveling, anti-settling, and film-forming properties, improving coating workability, surface smoothness and hardness, as well as water and weather resistance.
