PVA 088-50 Application

PVA 088-50 is a versatile partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol soluble in cold water, eco-friendly, and odorless. Thanks to its high degree of polymerization, it boasts outstanding adhesion, dense & hard films, better water resistance and tensile strength, and is categorized as medium-high water-resistant PVA.

Used For Textile Industry

Fit for high-count, high-density yarns, synthetic fibers, and heavy fabrics under high-speed weaving. It solves yarn abrasion and breakage issues of regular PVA.
High-end warp sizing: Applied to high-count cotton/linen yarn, polyester/nylon filament, canvas, and denim. It forms tough, wear-resistant coating layers to reduce fuzzing and breakage and raise weaving efficiency.
Precision printing paste: Mixed with printing pigments to stabilize pigments and boost leveling, delivering sharp, neat patterns for home textiles and premium clothing.

Used For Paper Industry

PVA 088-50 used for high-grade paper and heavy packaging paperboard as a surface & internal sizing agent, fixing linting, powder shedding, and poor folding resistance during high-speed printing.
Surface sizing: For coated paper, premium office paper, kraft and corrugated paper. It forms compact films to strengthen surface hardness, water resistance, and smoothness, lowering lint loss and improving printing clarity.
Internal sizing: Added into pulp to strengthen fiber bonding. It makes paperboard sturdier for honeycomb panels and heavy packaging with stronger load capacity.
Special paper binder: Improves interlayer adhesion of thermal paper, release paper, and decorative paper for stable molding performance.

Used For Adhesive Industry

Fundamental raw material of premium waterborne adhesives, capable of upgrading white latex, PVAC, and resin adhesives for heavy-duty and damp-condition bonding.
Composite adhesives: Used in woodworking latex, packaging glue, and modified formaldehyde adhesives for wood splicing, carton sealing, and board lamination with stronger adhesion and water resistance.
Stationery adhesives: Suitable for high-viscosity solid glue and damp-proof liquid glue. It resists softening and peeling in humid environments for office use.

Used For Coatings

Works as a film-forming binder for high-performance industrial coatings and packaging inks, partially replacing resin to cut costs while improving water, scratch, and abrasion resistance.
Water-based coatings: Added to wood paint, industrial anti-rust paint, and machinery coatings to enhance paint adhesion, scratch resistance, and waterproofness.
Water-based inks: Ideal for food packaging ink, plastic film ink, and flexo/gravure ink. They disperse pigments evenly, speed up drying, and prevent ink bleeding and fading after printing.

Used For Building Materials

High viscosity and water resistance make it an ideal additive for outdoor, humid construction materials, especially high-end dry mortar and waterproof products.
Dry powder mortar: Formulated in tile adhesive, exterior flexible putty, waterproof putty, and insulation board mortar.
Architectural latex paint: Serves as a thickener and film former for exterior and waterproof interior paint, improving scrub resistance, weather resistance, and avoiding paint peeling and chalking.
