PVA 2088 Application
PVA 2088 is a medium-high viscosity partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol. It features strong adhesive strength, excellent flexibility, film-forming properties, good water solubility and stable chemical performance. It is widely applied in multiple specialized industrial sectors as listed below:
Used for concrete modifier
PVA 2088 acts as an effective cement additive for oil well cementing systems. It improves the rheology of cement slurry, reduces water loss and enhances the flexibility and anti-shrinkage performance of hardened cement stone. It prevents crack generation under underground temperature and pressure fluctuation, improving the sealing integrity and long-term durability of the oil well cement sheath.
Used for soil improvement agent
As an environmentally friendly soil stabilizer, PVA 2088 can form continuous polymer networks among soil particles. It binds loose soil together, boosts soil erosion resistance, reduces water permeability and improves soil structure. Widely used for slope protection, sand fixation and ecological restoration projects.
Used for adhesive industry
With outstanding initial adhesion and cohesive strength, PVA 2088 is suitable for manufacturing various water-based wet adhesives. It delivers a stable bond to wood, paper, fiber and other porous substrates. The adhesive layer shows good toughness and moderate water resistance after drying.
Used for warp size
Ideal warp sizing agent for medium and high-count yarns. It forms a tough, uniform protective film on yarn surfaces, increasing tensile strength and friction resistance and lowering the end breakage rate during weaving. It possesses balanced permeability and surface-coating performance, with easy desizing characteristics.
Used for PVA Film
Suitable raw material for producing general-purpose water-soluble PVA film. It provides balanced mechanical strength, flatness and dissolution rate, meeting the production requirements for packaging film and disposable functional water-soluble films.
Used for PVAC emulsion protective colloid
Serves as a high-efficiency protective colloid during polyvinyl acetate emulsion polymerization. It encapsulates dispersed monomer particles, prevents coagulation and sedimentation and stabilizes the emulsion system. Meanwhile, it improves film flexibility, toughness and adhesion of final PVAC emulsion products.
Used for light-sensitive glue
Excellent auxiliary raw material for light-sensitive glue formulation. It endows the coating layer with uniform film-forming capacity, moderate hydrophilicity and good plate-releasing performance, helping achieve clear pattern reproduction in printing plate making.
Used for PVB
PVA 2088 is used as a starting material and a processing auxiliary in the production of Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB). It contributes to stable reaction progress and improves the flexibility, transparency and film-forming performance of finished PVB resin.
