PVA 088-20 Application
PVA 088-20 is a widely used water-soluble, environmentally friendly polymer with properties between plastic and rubber. It has good water solubility, adhesion, film flexibility, smoothness, oil resistance, solvent resistance, protective colloid properties, gas barrier properties, wear resistance, and thermal stability. PVA is widely used in the following areas:
Used For Textile Industry
PVA 088-20 is an essential auxiliary agent for textile pretreatment and is suitable for multiple yarn varieties, such as cotton, linen, and synthetic fibers. Its primary application lies in warp sizing. It forms flexible, abrasion-resistant protective films covering yarn surfaces to shield fibers against friction damage and breakage during weaving, thus raising overall weaving productivity. The sizing layer can be thoroughly desized without residual contaminants, avoiding adverse impacts on subsequent dyeing and printing procedures. Besides sizing, it works as a printing paste binder for textiles. When blended with printing pigments, it delivers superior pigment leveling performance and sharper printed patterns.
Used For Paper Industry
PVA 088-20 functions as both a surface sizing agent and internal sizing agent for paper manufacturing.
- Surface sizing: It forms compact continuous films on paper surfaces to upgrade surface strength, water resistance, smoothness, and rigidity. It mitigates fiber linting and surface powder falling, and is well-suited for manufacturing writing paper, office paper, and packaging paper.
- Internal sizing: Added to paper pulp, it strengthens bonding between cellulose fibers, elevates the physical toughness and durability of finished paper, and lowers the risk of tearing and damage.
Moreover, it can serve as a high-performance binder for specialty paper and paperboard production to improve interlayer bonding fastness.
Used For Adhesive Industry
PVA 088-20 is a fundamental raw material for diversified waterborne adhesives. It can be prepared into pure PVA glue independently. It can also be compounded with borax, starch, vinyl acetate, and other raw materials as the major component to manufacture white latex, PVAC emulsion adhesives, urea-formaldehyde adhesives, phenolic adhesives, and other bonding products.
- Standard PVA adhesive: Directly applicable for bonding paper, timber, and textiles, ideal for manual operation and small-batch production.
- Composite adhesive: Borax-modified PVA adhesives feature upgraded bonding strength and water resistance. When adopted as a raw material for white latex, it enhances adhesive force and system stability, matching woodworking, paper lamination, packaging, and carton-sealing scenarios.
Used For Concrete modifier
PVA 088-20 is a functional additive formulated for oil well cement slurries. It optimizes the rheological properties of cement slurry and controls water loss during field construction. After curing, it significantly improves the flexibility and anti-shrinkage performance of hardened cement stone. It effectively suppresses cracking triggered by fluctuating downhole temperature and pressure, enabling stable sealing of cement casings and prolonging the service life of oil and gas wells.
PVA1788 Used For Soil improvement agent
As an eco-friendly, non-toxic soil stabilizer, PVA 088-20 builds interconnected polymer network structures wrapping soil particles. It binds loose soil grains tightly, improves anti-erosion performance, and reduces water permeability to regulate soil structure. This material is widely used in slope reinforcement, desert sand fixation, and ecological restoration projects.
